Major General Ariel Querubin cut his hair today. He’s now bald, along with the rest of the Marine battalion in Mindanao. Its an act of sympathy to the 14 Marines who died in Basilan and two more in Sulu just today. The Armed Forces finest are dying by the wayside. And the government seems unable to solve this problem.

Eveb before the Basilan and Sulu incidents, the Marines are on a losing streak. Since the capitulation of this administration to the deviants (I call these ASG members Muslim deviants for they follow a philosophy that totally alienates themselves from the rest of the Ummah and totally different from what the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] teaches), the AFP has been suffering heavy casualties on the ground. I cannot believe that the Marines would even be defeated by a ragtag, untrained army of militants there. If we are to gauge their capabilities in armed combat, these Marines are experienced in war. Why are they suffering defeat after defeat in the battlefield?

Months ago, I read what Mon Tulfo of the Inquirer wrote–these Marines are being routed by their enemies because they are demoralized. Yes, demoralized. They have been politicized. Though they are trying to detach themselves from their sorry state, they cannot. Their families are suffering. They are being pauperized on the battlefield and in their own families. Even before they go to war, they have been injured already due to extreme poverty.

The Marines are poor in spirit, mind and body. Their charismatic leaders incarcerated due to their principles. They have a Commander in Chief who can’t lead and a Chief of Staff of questionable character. There is no inspiring figure to lead the Marines to battle.

The solution to this is a political solution. The Marines should band together and join their leaders in their quest for a better Philippines. In doing so, they will be able to extricate themselves from their sorry state and fight these terrorists with all vigor. They cannot do so now.

Likewise, I appeal to the US to support this struggle against the existing administration. The people of the Philippines want to help you in your fight against terrorism. The Human Security Act is a legal shield against these thugs. However, because this government is known for its vindictiveness and weakness, the people opposes the act though they know that it will eventually benefit them. The only way for this anti-terror law to be accepted is if GMA is out. Under a military-civilian revolutionary government, the anti-terror campaign will definitely get a boost.

Continue the revolutionary struggle against the illegitimate regime and all will be well in my country.

All Filipinos should band together–civilians, military and businessmen. Achieve the objective of 2004. And all will be well again.
