Yesterday, newly elected Senators Ping Lacson and Joker Arroyo traded barbs for just single goal– the Blue Ribbon Committee chairmanship. Digging up dirt, the two veteran legislators stabbed each other with their sharp verbal knives. Both emerged bloodied, yet, unbowed. After the dust has settled however, I believe Ping will emerge a winner.

If this happens, expect an escalation of this word war between members of the majority which is now the opposition and the minority. It has a time table– 90 days. The opposition will use all its arsenal for one purpose–to force the Administration to capitulate and release former president Erap from detention. They will use all their monies to show the vaulted mass strength of their ranks and prevent their boss from further incarceration.

I laud them for one thing–Erap, I believe, is innocent. The entire Filipino people believe this. And I think it is time for Erap to be free.

Next inmate–GMA and First Gentleman Mike Arroyo. Heard a malicious rumour lately. Wagging tongues said that FG fell ill after day-dreaming. He saw himself and his wife inside a prison cell.
